The graceful lines of Windermere Lake Cruises TERN can be seen in these views taken on a very grey and damp June 25, 2004 as she operates 16:00 Bowness to Lakeside sailing. TERN was built in 1891 by Forrest of Wivenhoe, Essex for the Furness Railway Company, then operators of the Windermere Steamer services. She was extensively refurbished and given a heritage rebuild in time for her centenary in 1991 by then owners Sea Containers. Sea Containers operated services on Windermere, trading as the Windermere Iron Steamboat Company, following the acquisition of British Railways Sealink until disposal of the Windermere operations to local interests in 1994.
