Tamar - Almost the End of The Chain!

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2005

With only a short time left in service before replacement by TAMAR II, the original Tamar of 1960 still handles the commuter crowds on the busy Devonport - Torpoint service.

February 15, 2005. TAMAR arrives with a good load of home bound commuters. She then back loads for the trip to Plymouth. The scheduled Firstbus service to Plymouth operated by classic Bristol VR can be seen.

TAMAR viewed from LYNHER on February 17. She was built by Thornycroft of Southampton in 1960 and lengthened in 1986.
