HSS Stena Discovery At Belfast

Photographs © Phil Alderson 2007

The withdrawn HSS STENA DISCOVERY arrived at Belfast on January 25 after a voyage around Land's End from her home port of Hoek van Holland. Her final sailing in service had been on January 08, 2007. It had been intended for her to journey round to Belfast earlier, however, adverse weather conditions led to her departure being delayed. What the future holds for the this vessel and her two sisters which remain in service on the Irish Sea remains to be seen.

The presence of the STENA DISCOVERY probably means it is the first time all three HSS vessels have been in the same port at the same time. HSS STENA EXPLORER has been refitting in  Belfast (left) and HSS STENA VOYAGER operates her service to Stranraer.
