Riverdance - A Visit to Cleveleys - March 01, 2008

Photographs © Mike Edmondson 2008

Views of RIVERDANCE and associated salvage equipment at Cleveleys on Saturday March 01, 2008.

Mike Edmondson writes:

We went to Cleveleys today, it was blowing hard but dry and fairly bright. When the vessel was relatively upright a few weeks ago it did not seem too bad, but now on its side embedding further into the sand it is rather a sad sight.

There is a lot more equipment about - large bobbins of mooring ropes, several diggers and a JCB. The crane of course. Nice new lighting systems, several plastic containers of what looked like some chemical or other - couldn't read the labels. Portable generators. Many items looked brand new.

There are skips full of bits, removed from trailers I presume - looked like metal trolleys the type you see in supermarkets - well - in a very bent condition. At least one trailer. A number of containers - inside one an operative was grinding away sending sparks in the air.
