Marine Transport Services THOMAS O'S At Cóbh on October 26 (left) and October 27 (right). This little passenger vessel continues to operate a limited private service to  Spike Island, though with island prison having closed in 2004 there is much less traffic. However, plans have recently been announced to reopen and upgrade the prison facilities as an alternative to expanding Cork Gaol. Therefore, there may be more work soon.
