The Cat's Out! - SuperSeaCat Two On the Mersey

Photographs © Ian Collard 2007

IMO number : 9141845
Name of ship : SUPERSEACAT TWO
Call Sign : VQJD2
Gross tonnage : 4662
Type of ship : Passenger/Ro-Ro Cargo Ship
Year of build : 1997
Flag : United Kingdom
Status of ship : In Service
SUPERSEACAT TWO departed from Langton Lock and ran engine trials on the Mersey on the morning of Friday, March 16, 2007. She then berthed at Prince's Landing Stage until around 13:10 when she departed for Douglas. She arrived at Douglas around 17:15. Observers report that the maximum speed observed on AIS was around 31 knots, though much of the crossing was undertaken at a much slower speed. One trusts this is indicative of a slow and steady running in rather than continuing ill-health. Time will tell.
