Ben-My-Chree off the Sunset City

BEN-MY-CHREE undertook her third annual "Round the Island Cruise" on Saturday July 14 and her first to go "North-a-bout". Despite the recent poor weather the cruise was undertaken in perfect conditions. Departure from Douglas was at 19:03 with the BEN-MY-CHREE putting her bow well into Peel Bay around 21:40 and coming close to the breakwater. Following her long whistle blast quite a few camera flashes could be seen going off from along the waterfront as the sun hit the sea off the "Sunset City". The BEN-MY-CHREE arrived back at Douglas at 23:40. Interestingly the north-a-bout cruise taking around one hour longer than the previous year's which followed the more usual "south-a-bout" route. However, it was a great trip, which at just £19 included a an excellent buffet. The BEN and her crew certainly did passengers proud!
