Cumbria County Council - Mallard

Photographs © Bernard Corbett 2005

Cumbria County Council may not immediately come to mind as a passenger ship operator. However, for many years the council has operated the Hawleshead Ferry which runs across Windermere and provides link on the B5285 Road. The present ferry MALLARD was constructed in 1990 F.L. Steelcraft of Borth, Wales. She is seen here crossing the lake in April 2005.
