Patrick Taylor sailed on the Ryndam during early December and writes:

"The RYNDAM sailed from Tampa on a 14 day Southern Caribbean cruise which departed on December 8, 2006, and we broke down in Tampa Bay about an hour into our cruise. We lost all power and called for tug assistance to keep us in the channel. We finally got underway about twelve hours later but lost all power again in the Florida Straight between Cuba and Key West. This power failure was of two hours duration and combined with the earlier power failure resulted in our missing the visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico. I was not to concerned, having to been to PR many times but felt sorry for those who hadn't seen this beautiful Spanish colonial city."
