Warship OPV2 Visits Manx Waters

Photographs © Jenny Williamson 2008

An interesting visitor to Isle of Man waters on Thursday June 12, 2008 was OPV 02.

Jenny Williamson writes: "We saw the first of these vessels coming February 04, 2008. The second, referred to as "OPV2" (Offshore Patrol Vessel 2) was seen passing by yesterday afternoon (June 12), and it anchored in Douglas Bay overnight, disappearing shortly after 08.30 this morning (June 13). The vessel, originally named BENDAHARA SAKAM does not appear on AIS. We don't know whether it has returned to Barrow following short sea trials, or whether it has gone further afield (it did not come back north past us this morning).
