Frigate USS ELROD was an unadvertised addition to the ships present at Navy Days 2006 - arriving almost without warning on Friday August 25. However, the fact that she was included in the brochure, suggests that her attendance was kept secret for some reason or another.

USS Elrod was constructed at Bath Iron Works, Maine and commissioned in 1985.
