Skua - A Lightship In Retirement

The former CIL Lightship SKUA seen berthed at Arklow Harbour on October 23, 2005. She had been built by Philip & Sons Shipbuilders of Dartmouth in 1960.

Just visible in the background of the third picture can be seen the restored lantern of the Light Vessel ALBATROSS. The hull of the Albatross currently languishes in Dublin.
