Spirit of Docklands Awaits Service

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2005

SPIRIT OF DOCKLANDS is the new Westers Mekaniska water bus delivered to the Docklands Development Authority earlier this summer. Built in Sweden the vessel will operate the "Liffey Voyage" passenger service along the River Liffey through Dublin City Centre. An exceptionally low air draught is required to enable her to pass below the Liffey Bridges. She is seen laid up at the Poolbeg Marina. She is yet to enter service. Originally it had been planned to name the vessel STRUMPET.
