U534 - The Cutting of the Historic U-boat Nears Completion

Photographs © Eddie Doig 2008

Photographs of U534 as the final cut is made. Other view show details of her twin stern torpedo tubes which have become visible now that the warehouse by 'A' bridge has been demolished. The final photograph (right) shows progress at preparing the site adjacent to the Woodside Ferry Terminal where the dismembered U-boat will be installed. It is expected that MERSEY MAMMOTH will transport the first section on March 10, 2008 if everything goes according to plan.
