Empress of Britain - A Tribute

As the THE TOPAZ the former EMPRESS OF BRITAIN comes to the end of her life Ian Collard has sent these photographs as a tribute this fine turbine steamer which was a familiar sign on Merseyside when she sailed for the Canadian Pacific Railway Company on their liner service to Canada.

She completed her final "Peaceboat" voyage on April 28, 2008 and was noted on May 14, 2008 lying at Singapore awaiting sale and delivery to breakers. During her life she carried a number of names -

1956 Empress of Britain, 1964 Queen Anna Marie, 1975 Carnivale, 1993 Fiesta Marina, 1994 Olympic ,1998 The Topaz
