Closure of Seacombe Promenade to Vehicles - Wirral Council Last Word
A final follow up to the previous comments on The Irish Sea Shipping web site made during 2007 regarding the closure of Seacombe Promenade. The following letter dated January 11, 2008 was received recently. Unfortunately the council are proceeding with their proposals to close the promenade to vehicles in the near future.

Dear Mr Luxton

RE: SEACOMBE PROMENADE, SEACOMBE PROHIBITION OF DRIVING

I refer to your objection the proposed amendment to the traffic regulation order at the above location.

! can advise you that your objection was reported to the Council's Streetscene and Transport Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 7 November 2007. Committee resolved that in relation to the proposal to prohibit driving on Seacombe Promenade, Seacombe, your concerns be noted but that the proposal be introduced as advertised.

I shall be arranging to make this order come into operation some time in the near future.

Thank you for your interest in this matter.

Yours sincerely

David Green
